About George's Income Tax Service

While working in the bank industry, George Taylor longed for the day he would no longer have to wear a suit to work, could make his own hours and become his own boss.  The journey toward realizing that dream started when in 1988 George saw an advertisement for e-filing tax returns.  That inner voice that most of us ignore spoke up and said “I can do that!”  With little money and lots of determination, George set off to achieve his dream and started George’s Income Tax Service; doing his first tax return at his mother’s kitchen table.  Word quickly spread and his business quickly grew with the doors of his first location opening in 1990 in Marrero, LA.  The success continued and George’s Income Tax grew to locations in New Orleans, Gretna, Kenner, Belle Chasse, Harvey and of course, where it all started, Marrero. George’s Income Tax Service started franchising in 1993 making it one of the first African-American income tax franchises in the country.

After several years of doing taxes, George recognized the need of many of his customers to secure small, emergency loans without a credit check.  He decided to diversify and another successful business was born:  G-Money Payday Loans.  Clients are able to obtain small, quick, no hassle, loans to take care of "surprise" expenses, like auto repairs, cover a check they have written, rent due, phone or utility bill.

 After Katrina, many New Orleans residents had to endure the task of rebuilding homes and rebuilding lives; this included George.  We currently operate three offices with hopes of expanding in the future.  George’s Income Tax and G-Money Payday Loans have been proudly serving the Greater New Orleans area for over 20 years!
